One night accommodation

Hi,

Need to spend one night in NYC to catch a flight from JFK and was told Brooklyn may be the best. Any recommendations for a place easily accessible without car from JFK and ideally, under $100.

Also any recommendations please for what to do in Brooklyn if I have a day to kill? I like theater, interesting book shops, people watching in cafes.

Williamsburg Brooklyn is a fun, cool, SAFE area to spend a night if you like nightlife, bars, art galleries, unique boutique and/or thrift store shopping.
