Hwy 18 along Lake Ontario NY Coastline

Has anyone driven this? We have an extra day, and wanted to know if it was worth driving ? Very scenic? Thanks for your reply.

We have done it on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it. It really isn%26#39;t as scenic as some of the drives along the river-such as the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie-to Niagara Falls.

But if you were to start in Lewiston and take River Road to Youngstown and then follow hwy 18 it can be a real treat in some places. Along the way stop in Wilson, the boat house has great food, there is a nice light house in Barker-

There is a park in Waterport , Lakeside Beach, which has lovely views.

Another option would be to go up river and take a ride along Route 5-start in Buffalo and ride along Lake Erie up to Angola-on-the-Lake and beyond even into Erie PA. There is a marked difference between the two Lakes but Lake Erie has the best beaches.
