Big Apple Greeters?

I requested a Big Apple Greeter for our trip next weekend, but have not heard anything yet? When do they usually let you know if there is one available for you or not? Thanks!

Big Apple Greeters?

Are you from Huber Heights? If so, I see your request for Saturday, 9/17 as still open.

Big Apple Greeters?

Yes, we%26#39;re the ones from Huber Heights. What does it mean that it%26#39;s ';still open';?

Since I%26#39;m a volunteer Greeter, I get a regular email from the office that lists all the upcoming requests. I just scanned the most recent list and your request is still there, which means it%26#39;s still available.

Thanks, Bettina. It%26#39;s great having someone ';on the inside'; for information!!

Off topic - but GoBucks, are you actually going to be out with a greeter on a game day? Or is Tivo your friend? We actually met a Buckeye fan in Central Park last weekend that had to hurry back to his sister%26#39;s apartment so he wouldn%26#39;t miss a minute of the game! (For those of you reading this that may not understand - in this part of Ohio, people even plan their wedding dates around game days!)

NYCforme, I will DEFINITELY be TiVo-ing the game and thanks to this forum, I have found a Buckeye bar in Manhattan called Blondie%26#39;s!! GO BUCKS!!

NYCforMe....my own wedding was planned around my husbands football team home game...over 27 years ago and still things are planned that way!

LOL, Daisiegee. Now you know exactly what it%26#39;s like to be in Buckeye Country during football season. Complete madness!

We requested a greeter in May for our vacation beginning July 25th. We were interested in seeing SoHo as my husband is very interested in architecture. Shortly before leaving for NYC, I emailed them again just to remind them that we would still like to meet a greeter. When we checked into our hotel, there was a polite email waiting for us saying that a greeter had not been found. Too bad because it sounds like a terrific program. Maybe next time! :)

Hi, I organised a Big Apple Greeter from Australia, heard nothing before we left Oz. Arrived in New York in June there was a fax for me at the front desk of our hotel from our Greeter asking me to call. His name was Charles I rang him, we met the following morning in our lobby. The nicest man you could ever meet, we spent 4-5 hours together rode the subway toured Tribeca, Soho, Greenich Village, he was so knowledgable, I can not recommend this service highly enough. Just make sure you provide your hotel address, hone/fax numbers I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be fine. You%26#39;ll love it!!
