I noticed from a previous posting you%26#39;re staying at the Newton - I stayed there in November and for the price it%26#39;s good. The decor although dated is clean - our room was facing the back and had a double bed with enough room to walk round and the bathroom was a good size. We had friends who stayed on the front and they weren%26#39;t disturbed by noise from outside and their room was as good as ours. The subway is right outside the hotel and is easy to use. There%26#39;s also a cafe place underneath the hotel which was ok for breakfasts. I think if we stayed again we%26#39;d explore the area around the hotel more but as it was our first time we spent a lot of it in the centre and doing touristy things (as you do!).

Thanks for this. We tried to upgrade to a suite (I emailed and said it was our wedding/honeymoon week wink wink nudge nudge kinda of thing!!!) but all they could offer was an upgrade at $50 a night! Got an en-suite guaranteed tho. We don%26#39;t plan on spending a lot of time in the room, just to sleep, wash, change etc, as long as it%26#39;s clean and comfy we%26#39;ll be happy.

We have read some really reassuring reports on here which helped settle our minds too
