Shopping advice please

Are there any particular brands to look out for in NY that you either can%26#39;t get in the UK or that are much cheaper (sorry to be crass but I%26#39;m from Yorkshire - it%26#39;s my birthright to like a bargain!!).

I%26#39;m after some new jeans especially and I%26#39;m always after new shoes / boots. Also are there any cosmetics to look out for?

Any suggestions plus where to look much appreciated

Cath

Shopping advice please

Hi Cath,

I am going to NY in 2 weeks time (yea!!). I have travelled in the US before and you will find a huge difference between our prices and over there - brands to look out for are - Seven and True Religon Jeans (fab fit and literally half the price we pay, Nine West footwear, DKNY, Guess and all designers really. Look out for Raplh Lauren/Tommy gear and hugely reduced rates in discount stores. You will also get a great deal on make up, esp Clinique and Mac stuff!

Hope that%26#39;s some help and happy shopping!!

Shopping advice please

Tanya - when you come back please post and let me know what you found. True Religion and Seven jeans would be definites plus mac stuff.

Have a great time, look forward to hearing what you got up to when you return.

Cath x

Any idea what sizes 7 and true religion go up to? wondering if my big butt will fit in some - although not sure I could bear to spend that much on one pair of jeans......keep saying I%26#39;ll get something designer (treat myself) and then end up buying bargains instead!

If you go on the browns site for seven jeans

and this one for true religion

They appear to be for the skinnies.

Time to get the Slimfast in.... (joke - there%26#39;s nothing wrong with a big of a squidgy a*se IMHO)

I figured they probably would be (remember visiting abercrombie with my sister whose a uk 10/12 and even she struggled to find stuff in there!) I am slowly shrinking lost 2 and a half stone now and was well chuffed when I was able to get my wedding dress in a size 14 (UK) - Alas with my hips I shall never been a skinny minnie ;)

2 and a half stone - wow! That%26#39;s really impressive

Might stick to the shoes - much more fun than squeezing into teeny jeans...

Hey girlies,

Just back to the jeans again - when i was in Chicago this year i got a pair of Sevens - they were 鈧?30, not bad considering they are 鈧?40 in Dublin. I got a waist 32'; which would equate to a size 14 in maybe River Island, they are quite stretchy though so there is room in them! I think that was as big as they got. From what i can see True Religon only seems to go to 31';. A friend of mine has a pair of them and they are very skinny fitting.

I might buy a pair as my ';target'; jeans as i am currently dieting! However i am sure that will get blown out of the water in NY!!

Will report back on all the shopping when i return, the boyf doesn%26#39;t know what he has let himself in for!!
