I am moving to NYC to do an internship and am living with a girl in my class. She has a distant relative who owns a condo at 104 w. 70th. It is on 70th and Columbus. I can not find pictures of the building anywhere on the internet and was wondering if any of you had any familarity with this location or not. I want to know how the building is or are the apartments in good shape? Does anone please know anything about this area/complex???? How is 3,000 a month for a one bedroom in this location??? I want something clean, nice and safe... Please any help will do. Also what good pizza, italian restaurants are good nearby? Thank you!!!

It%26#39;s a very nice neighborhood. Tons of good restaurants in the area. Columbus is a main shopping/dining street. The rent sounds fair (no bargain). I found a photo and description of the building here

鈥irednewyork.com/search/鈥?/a>

The 1 bedroom apts. appear to be a decent size for Manhattan. The building was built in 1902 so you may find high ceilings and some nice mouldings. You could also possibly find an older kitchen/bathroom if it hasn%26#39;t been renovated recently.

If you want a comparison on prices, you might try getting a quote from a short term apt broker. Post back if you want some websites.

Here%26#39;s a website that gives you a listing of what%26#39;s on every block on the upper westside.

There appears to be a pharmacy and a bakery right in the building.

Lucky....

Thank you fir the information. I was hoping to find a picture of the building closer up or maybe even one for sale or rent. Too bad! Maybe someone else will know the building personally. I hope so! Thanks for the websites.

What does your classmate know about it, since it is her relative...

well she is from New Orleans, louisiana so I have not and don%26#39; t want to bother her right now! Therefore, I was coming to the experts! Thanks!

Woah! Excuse me while I take care of my athelete%26#39;s tongue....

Anyway, many a New Yorker would live in a ';biscuit tin'; to be in that neighborhood (and many do.). However, if you%26#39;re really unhappy once you get there, let me know and I%26#39;ll be able to handle it and take over for you.

I can%26#39;t help with details on the building, but I%26#39;d kill to live in that neighborhood!!!
