Day trip tp New York City ...

Hi Gurus:

I am looking for some advice for a day trip to NY. Hubby and I were thinking of covering central park, ground zero, evening cruise and if time permits time square, since we have been to time square a few times.

We were planning to get to mid town Penn Station by noon.

1. Is it all doable in one day?

2. What subway would we take from Penn station to central park? Which area of central park should we cover? How many hours should we budget for central park? What are the central park must dos?

3. Which subway would get us from central park to downtown?

4. What is a good cruise line to take a harbor cruise for a couple of hours? What%26#39;s the cost and where does the cruise start from? Again how do we get there from downtown?

Any advice would be appreciated. Waiting to hear from you all ...

Thanks,

Smili

My first thought it, if you%26#39;ve been to Time Square already, skip it and go to another nabe, such as Soho, The Village or the Upper West Side. More later.

Thanks queens boulevard, thats a nice suggestion ... waiting to hear more from you ... and what amongst those would you recommend. I know a little bit about the village, whats there on the upper west side and in soho?

Later,

What you could do is get a subway Uptown, and enter Central Park around the 70s. Walk slowly through and take it all in, and then exit when you get to the Plaza and 5th Av. Then you could walk along 5th Av, and if you feel the need, walk over a few blocks to Times Square for a quick peak. Then jump on a subway downtown to Ground Zero, then head to Battery Park for your cruise...That way you will more or less be moving in a straight line from uptown to downtown without jumping all over the place..Oh, and we took the nr.6 subway all over the place, its a straight line, and goes all the way downtown...
