Local Brew?

I think I read somewhere on the forum about local beer, possibly from the Brooklyn Brewery? Is it, or any others, any good? We usually like to try it..........and continue to indulge if it%26#39;s good.

Local Brew?

Here are some links with info on it. Samuel Adams which is brewed in Boston is available in more places. Bath are good.

Brooklyn Beer rules! (And I don%26#39;t even drink beer.)

P.s. Red Hook beer is not made in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It is made in Washington state, I believe.

thaks again to you both.

sorry for spelling error.......too early in morning for me......

Jackiee...I%26#39;ve had Brooklyn Beer and it is very nice..as is Sam Adams!

We got through a lot of Sam Adams - very nice it was too!

Also have a look at the Heartland Brewery - we went to the one in South St Seaport, they had many different beers %26amp; ciders - some of them quite unusual - all lovely though!

A few years ago we went to a microbrewery on Amsterdam (can%26#39;t for the life of me remember the name...Ken, can you help?). It was smashing with a really canny pint.

The Heartland Brewery have several restaurants in New York, they have about 10 types of beer if my memory is right including lager, Indian Pale Ale, stout type, etc. They serve a selection in small glasses where you can sample the different types. I liked most of them.

I liked Brooklyn Beer too.

I drink about 100 gallons of one Brooklyn Brewery beer or another per year.

Brooklyn Lager is ubiquitous throughout the city and pretty tasty. Brooklyn Pilsner is my favorite but less common in bars (6 packs are available in most delis). Some bars will have the less common Brooklyn IPA or Heffeveisen.

They%26#39;ve recently released a new beer, which I%26#39;m not sure if it is just temporary, called the Brooklyn Pennant Ale. It%26#39;s really delicious and I recommend you try it if you see it.

While Sam Adams is pretty good (especially the seasonal brews), it%26#39;s not local to New York and is a major national brand that you can get all across the country.
