Abingdon Guest House and a place listed here under ';rooms to let'; are 2 GV options.

The Inn on 23 st. while not in the village is a b and b type place. In midtown/upper eastside, 1871 House is a nice Inn/b and b. On the upper westside, jacksbandb.com is a budget funky place. Wymanhouse.com is a nice townhouse.

I%26#39;m staying at West Eleventh - www.west-eleventh.com at the end of Sept - it has mixed reviews - a lot of bad ones from people who didn%26#39;t stay there just got bad customer service when they tried to book. I will post a trip report when I get back and let everyone know what it was like.

If you%26#39;re in your twenties or thirties, I%26#39;ll suggest the new ';Hotel on Rivington';--a boutique hotel off Ludlow Street on the gentrified Lower East Side--which used to be the home of turn-of-the-century immigrants and later Hispanics and Chinese. Now the area is filled with funky cafes and galleries--kind of a SoHO/Tribeca feel. The hotel is on a sidestreet overlooking nothing, but it%26#39;s very elegant and the restaurant is beautiful. Check it out. It%26#39;s called ';Thor'; (The Hotel On Rivington).
