On Labor Day I noticed my travel wallet missing after returning from shopping on Canal Street and riding the Gray Line double decker bus back to the apartment we had rented for 5 days. I Didn%26#39;t think I had been pick-pocketed so called the bus company. They were closed. I remembered walking by one of their offices on 8th Ave. which was 4-5 blocks from our apartment so set off for that office. Walked in and told them that I might have lost my wallet on one of their buses. I even remembered the tour guide%26#39;s name as he had told it to us so many times. One of the gals behind the counter was smiling at me and asked if my last name started with an ';m';. My wallet was waiting there for me! It still contained my drivers license and my money. They had inventoried the contents and four people had signed the inventory sheet. Thank you, Mr. Wiggler, for being such a great guide and turning in my wallet so quickly! Thanks also to the unknown tourist that found it on the bus. I LOVE NEW YORK!!
Lost Wallet Returned! It happens in NYC all the time. I can tell you many stories of individuals who have found wallets or bags and have gone out of the way to call phone numbers to find the owners.
Lost Wallet Returned!floramart - great news for you and kudos to Mr. Wiggler!
But, I hope this doesn%26#39;t ruin our reputation ;-)
Mr. Wiggler sounds like a character from one of the Batman movies. But - given how well he looked after your wallet - I%26#39;m assuming that he would have been cast as one of Batman and Robin%26#39;s allies.
I too have had my lost wallet returned to me in NYC. Amazing!!! I guess we%26#39;re not so bad after all...
Last time my Dad was in NYC, he left his wallet in a cab. Fortunately, he had a receipt that had the cab number on it. He called the cab company. The driver returned the wallet. The credit cards were alll still there but his cash was missing. Since my Dad didn%26#39;t have too much cash in it, he didn%26#39;t mind all that much. He was just glad to get his credit cards and driver%26#39;s license back.
I%26#39;m glad to hear that you got your wallet back, Flora. You must have greatly relieved!
