Taking my teenage son to NY in December and we%26#39;d like to see a show. We went thru Playbill and he said the 3 above shows sound good.
Any comments on which is best for a teen as far as being interesting enough? thanks.
Lion King, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or Wicked?
Hi there:
I don%26#39;t know how old your son is, and I%26#39;ll admit I haven%26#39;t seen Lion King or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. But Wicked was excellent -- not too much like the book but the songs made up for it!
It%26#39;s an interesting story, but pretty solidly on the ';girl power'; theme, just fyi. I don%26#39;t know if Lion King would be too young for him.
Good luck.
Lion King, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or Wicked?
thanks, he will be 16 in December, now the choices are between Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Avenue Q. He read what you wrote about girl power (Wicked) and Lion King and laughed, so I guess those are out.
Avenue Q is supposed to be a far better show--haven%26#39;t seen it (tried the lottery at least half a dozen times) but have the cast album and that is great. As long as he wasn%26#39;t brought up in a sheltered environment, this would probably be the better bet.
thanks, he really wants to see Avenue Q, and he%26#39;s definataly not sheltered living in So Florida, hehe, I%26#39;m actually going to try to watch both shows. Sounds like the lottery is a waste of time then?
Ya never know who%26#39;s going to be offended by what these days, so I thought I%26#39;d add that. Now I%26#39;m envious if he gets to see it.
The lottery is, as the word, suggests, strictly chance and Avenue Q has one of the smaller ones--only 12 seats I believe as opposed to 20 or more for other shows. They%26#39;re starting to discount the show, although I%26#39;m not sure if any will be available for December. Check Broadwaybox.com
