I know that Carnegie does but where else will we encounter this? Our biggest complaint about the New York Food was that there was too much.
There will be three of us and I%26#39;m thinking if we ordered two meals there would still be food left over.
We never finished anything...except dessert!
What restaurants/delis charge a sharing fee!
I agree with you regarding too much food. To avoid the fee, you should either order it as if you%26#39;re not going to share or... did you know this?...sometimes the fee is only charged if they split the dish in the kitchen...so you could try asking the waiter NOT to do this.

Some diner type restaurants will say on the menu if there is a plate sharing surcharge. It is not much, but clarify with the waiter before ordering.
You can%26#39;t get around the sharing charge because many places (like the Carnegie), have a minimum per diner. So paying the minimum would cost you more than the $3 sharing charge.
I%26#39;ve gone many times with three people, and we split two sandwiches, pay the $3 sharing charge for one of them, and everyone eats well!
