Sweet Charity or Dirty Rotten Scoundrals?

My husband has said he would like to see either of these. Have you seen either or both? What would you reccomend? If you got your tickets through TKTS, may I ask how much you got them for?

Thanks so much!

Sweet Charity or Dirty Rotten Scoundrals?

Sweet Charity or Dirty Rotten Scoundrals?

Hi there! I saw Sweet Charity about a week and a half ago, and I loved it! The music was great, Christina Applegate was really good, and a great dancer actually, and it was fun and splashy. But I haven%26#39;t seen DRS, so can%26#39;t recommend one over the other, but I really enjoyed Sweet Charity, as did the rest of the audience, who gave it a standing ovation...

I enjoyed both musicals but felt DRS was a better and funnier show. I feel that SWEET CHARITY has a weaker story. Both cast were excellent. Both have discounts available through sometime in October on Playbill%26#39;s website. You can take a printout of the discount code to the box office or order tickets online. If time is at a premium it%26#39;s always nice not to wait in the TKT%26#39;s line when a discount code is available.

I agree with 4baxter both shows are good DRS is better :) You can find very detailed review of both shows in www.talkingbroadway.com also I don%26#39;t know what is the discount playbill offers - just be sure to take another minute and compare with other sites like www.broadwaybox.com maybe you%26#39;ll save some extra $$$

Enjoy the show

Just got back from NYC and saw both plays. Paid $55 for ';Sweet Charity'; at TKTS at South Street Seaport for last Saturday night. (Only about 12 people in line.) Very good play, good singing and dancing. Saw Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels Tuesday night. If you like to laugh - go to this one! ';Freddy'; is shockingly, outrageously funny. We probably paid $55 at the Times Square TKTS booth.

Also, one that you never hear about is the off Broadway play ';Forbidden Broadway, Special Victims Unit';. It consists of 2 gals and 2 guys that do ';spoofs'; on all the popular shows. They are VERY good. This one cost about $30 at TKTS.

Also went to ';Lion King'; by getting to the theatre last Sunday 2 hrs. before ticket booth opened (opens at 11:45 an on Sunday) and were the 1st ones in line to purchase 1 ticket each for $20 to stand at the matinee at the behind the last rows of seats on the ground floor of the theatre. The animals actually came out of a curtain behind us to walk down the aisle to go up on stage. If you haven%26#39;t done alot of walking that day, it%26#39;s a wonderful way to get a ticket to a sold out play.
