The upper westside is a great location - safe, fun, lots of shops and restaurants, close to subways and Central Park: more of a neighborhood feel without the noise and crowds of midtown/Times Square. A couple really reasonable hotels in the area are the Beacon and the Milburn. Will be going next week - can%26#39;t wait!!

One of my favorite hotels in NYC is On The Ave at Broadway and 77th on the Upper West Side. I%26#39;ll be staying there next month for the third time. The prices for hotels have skyrocketed in the last year or so, but On The Ave is within your budget. One nice feature of the hotel is that they have a public balcony on the 16th floor with great views. I agree with the previous poster about the great neighborhood. The UWS is my favorite area of the city.
