First, I want to express my thanks to all of you for your advises. Second, even though I am not an american (resident A), i really feel proud of living in this country, NYC is the best city I have ever been. here are some tips for people who is ging for the first time.
day 1: arrived to LGA, took M60 and xfer to train #2, very easy. check in in Newton hotel (95 %26amp; broadway) and went to have dinner in very close restaurant.
tip: Newton hotel is great, totally clean, perfect location and really cheap. They are renovating the rooms so be sure you ask to stay in the renovated rooms.
day 2: liberty, ellis, pier 17 ate at cabana in Pier 17, walk south seaport, back to hotel, went to time square to see L. king.
tip: L. king is great for everybody.
day 3: walk from west to east in the central park to arrive to the MET, in the afternoon went to a bar in queens to watch a soccer match (ecuador-bolivia), at night went back to hotel and wento to time square to eat at victor%26#39;s cafe, great place
tip: victor cafe is great latin food.
day 4: broklyn bridge, chinatown, little italy, to hotel and to the US open.
tip: you must do the bridge thing
day5: central park for 3 hours and then since it was labor day, macy%26#39;s and 34th street stores, all day shopping
tip you must do the central park thing and relax while listenign someone playing music.
day 6: took a taxi and back to oklahoma city.
The only thing that was quite different is that some people(employees) @ (macys, mta, airport) were kind of rude. It maybe that people in Oklahoma is too friendly and i am just used to that. But anyway, That does not change in anything about how great is NYC
thanks again

Diva78, I live in the neighborhood of the Newton and here are my restaurant recommendations:

Gennaro 665 Amsterdam 92/93 Streets - very good food-Italian-very hectic does not take reservations or credit cards-get there early for seating.
Docks 2427 Broadway 89/90 Streets 212-986-8080 good fish excellent oysters, lively but not hectic.
Saigon Grill 620 Amsterdam 90 Street good Vietnamese a bit hectic and noisy
Pampa 768 Amsterdam 97/98 Streets 212-865-2929 good grilled Argentinean steak. Crowded. No credit cards.

Roth’s Westside Steak 680 Columbus 93 STreet 212-280-4103 good steak, expensive.
Yuki Sushi 656 Amsterdam 92 Street 212-787-8200 Excellent quality of fish in sushi and sashimi. Moderate price for quality Japanese. Sushi lunch with salad or soup is less than $11.
Miyako 642 Amsterdam 91 Street 212-724-3448 About as good as Yuki Sushi and everything is $1-$1.50 less
Acqua 718 Amsterdam 94/95 Streets 212-222-2752 reasonably priced good Italian (Sicilian and Sardinian) in nice setting.
Pizzabolla 654 Amsterdam 92 Street 212-579-4500 Old style “checkered tablecloth” Italian with very reasonably priced good food. Good antipasti, entrees, brick-oven pizza and good selection of reasonable priced wine by the bottle and glass.
diva: I think all rooms are OK but if you can get one of the just renovated rooms will be perfect. They told me that right now only rooms in the 9th floor are renovated and they are working in the way down. Believe me this is a great hotel for the price, eat around the hotel and you will have plenty of cash for your shopping :)
Thanks both!
