Javits Cntr. to NY Public Library

I%26#39;ll be in town in Nov. for the NYC Marathon, staying at the Best Western near the Javits Center, W. 38th between 10th and 11th. Early, about 5a.m. on Sun Nov. 6 I have to get from the hotel to the library (6th Ave. %26amp; 42nd) being from a small town in Indiana I have no idea how long that%26#39;ll take hoofing it, any idea? Once I get to the marathon (and hopefully finish) I%26#39;ll worry about sightseeing. Thanks!

It will be less than a mile and should take about 15/20 minutes.

The library is actually on 40/41 and 5th Avenue, so walk down 38/39/40th then up 5th Avenue.

...or about 5 - 6 minutes if you%26#39;ve got your running shoes on!

Good luck in the marathon.

Thanks so much!

Hello Hoosier, not sure what you are going to the library for but there are two branches of the NYPL on 5th ave at the location described. The grand building on the west side of the street is the reference/research library with the fancy reading rooms, across the street closer to 40th street is the lending library which looks like a general office building.
