Honeymoon in NYC

Hi, we are coming to NYC late september and I would be really grateful for advice on what not to miss! We have planned the usual things, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, Central Park etc but I would really like to know about some romantic places to take my other half....... We are only in for 3 days before heading to Niagara Falls so I would really appreciate some advice so we dont miss anything. All help really appreciated

Honeymoon in NYC

In the city it is pretty romantic just strolling around in the less busy areas. Do some research to find out which areas you are interested in and there are plenty of resources on the internet to advise on walks. It will be romantic if you are there on your own and on honeymoon. Romance is a state of mind!

Because of the time difference I would suggest you take an early morning trip to see the falls as it gets really busy and my husband went at 6.30 -7 am while running and he said it was amazing as there was only one other person there. Now the two of you on your own overlooking the falls that would be romantic! The fireworks at night are great too.

If you are driving up north there are some pretty nice spots on the hudson. When you are up at Niagara visit Niagara on the Lake, very quaint place and such a contrast to Niagara Falls.

Have a great time and congratulations.

Get a horse cab ride around Central Park. Very romantic.

A ride on the ferry (very romantic on a budget)

Get a slice and an italian ice (very New York) Eat your pizza the ';proper'; NY way (think Travolta in the opening of Sat. Night Fever-- folded in half length wise-- walking down the street optional)

See the Unicorn Tapestries at the Cloisters (way uptown)

Friday night ';date'; at the Met with live music and drinks (oh, and great art)

Have a coffee (please pronounce it caw-fee) at a cafe in the Village.

Washington Square Park in the village.

Those are MY pics.

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset! Or if budget isn%26#39;t a concern, have dinner at the River Cafe and catch the sunset over Manhattan from there.

Another restaurant that is supposed to be very romantic and not as expensive (without the views) is One if by Land, Two if by Sea

There was a whole thread on romantic restaurants recently.

Search this forum for ';romantic restaurant'; or ';Candela'; for previous lists and posts.
