Clubs/bar in Times Square?

Hi, can anyone recommend any good clubs or lively bars w/ music in the TS area? We are staying at the Belvedere on 48th and would like to walk there or take a short cab ride. We are bringing our teen with us and don%26#39;t want to leave him alone in the room for too long..thanks.

Go to the W hotel for a drink. great atmosphere. I think it%26#39;s called the Whiskey Bar.

thanks, i will check it out!

If you like big band/swing music, check out:

Swing 46

http://www.swing46.com/

They have dance lessons, too.

Birdland

Even if you don%26#39;t really listen to big band, it is great to see live, and is very ';New York';. Plus, the lyrics are always clean.

i love swing! i will probably go to both W and the swing place. I%26#39;m not bringing my son to the bar with us, just leaving him in the room, but didn%26#39;t want to be gone all night. thanks.

Nearby is the show This Joing is Jumpin%26#39; at the Supper Club (240 w 47th st between 8th and 7th avenue) next to the Hotel Edison with

10pm Friday and Saturday

I always see their big billboard as I walk by.

Larry Marshall and his troupe of eight performers present a 1940s-style cabaret in This Joint is Jumpin%26#39;. Come on down to the Supper Club for a night of dining, dancing and retro-romancing. Arrive early and hear the Supper Club%26#39;s 16 piece Big Band, or stay late for swing dance lessons held in the Blue Room.

If you like swing, you should go to Birdland on a Fri. at 5pm. Great big band and your son would be welcome. Actually, your son would be welcome anywhere you go. Why leave him in the room?

BB Kings (blues, rock, soul) and Iridium (jazz) are both in the TS area and both good. There%26#39;s a fun place Don%26#39;t Tell Mama on restaurant row (46th b/w8th-9th) that%26#39;s a cabaret and piano bar.

Caroline%26#39;s comedy club is a block away on 49th %26amp; Broadway.

my son will be 16 then, i figured most of these places are bars and don%26#39;t allow minors at night? Caroline%26#39;s comedy club sounds good too, he loves that stuff. i was kind of hoping to get away with my husband for maybe 2 hours just to have drinks. we are only there 3 nts/4 days, from a sunday to a wednesday so we will miss the weekend fun spots! my husband and i are both from NY (queens %26amp; brooklyn) and would love to show all the tourist spots to our son (funny, we never went to those place when we lived there, LOL!)
