snow at xmas?

can anyone tell me the chances of snow at xmas in nyc?

snow at xmas?

I did a qick web search. One site: 鈥oaa.gov/oa/climate/extremes/christmas.html

It looks like 11% to 25% chance of snow on the ground in NYC on average, On Christmas day. By looking at the map, a short distance north of NYC changes to 26% - 40% chance on average.

snow at xmas?

According to senior climatologist Keith Eggleston of Cornell University%26#39;s Northeast Regional Climate Center, New York City both have a 14 percent chance of snow on any given Christmas.

Last year was a high of 33F and a low of 25F (average high is 40F, record high is 64F) with no snow.

Update... a little deeper in detail on that site said only 10% chance of at least 1 inch of snow in NYC. Only 7% chance of atleast 5 inches!

Zip.

There%26#39;s a better chance off it snowing in April (especially around baseball opening day.)

However, the Parks Dept. often has snowmaking in the winter for cross-country skiing in Central Park!

Hmmmm I guess there goes my hopes of getting snow in November! All the movies show New York blanketed in snow... people buying their trees.... last minute shopping.... carolling.....sheeesh.... that%26#39;s just false advertising! I guess my closest thing will be to ice skate in Central Park.... now THAT I am looking forward to!
