Please help! I am visiting NYC with my husband (his first trip)and my sister and her boyfriend. I am in charge of getting tickets to the theater. We already have tickets for ';Moving Out';. My sister has already seen ';The Producers';,';The Lion King';, ';Chicago';, and ';Mamma Mia';. Has anyone heard anything about ';A Naked Girl on the Appian Way';? Others we are interested in are ';ALL Shook Up';, ';Dirty Rotten Scoundrels';,and ';Sweet Charity';. My sister is interested in ';All Shook Up'; but I have read mixed reviews. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are all in the past forty age group!
';A Naked Girl on the Appian Way';';
Appian Way is just opening, so I have not seen it yet, no buzz.
I enjoyed All Shook Up, as have many others on this forum, it was very entertaining. How about Hairspray, you can%26#39;t go wrong with that one, for sure. Sweet Charity has gotten mixed reviews, I have not seen it, same with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, but reports on this forum on DRS was very good.
I also think Fiddler on the Roof is worthwhile, a Broadway classic with wonderful music.
';A Naked Girl on the Appian Way';';
When will you be in Manhattan?
We will be visiting Oct. 4th thru Oct. 7th.
I enjoyed Ave Q ( it all depende if you would like x-rated muppets?)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels would be another good choice.
How about Spamalot?
I also liked Wicked but my girlfriend was luke warm to itl.
Naked Girl on the Appian Way marks the Broadway return of Jill Clayburgh and it also stars Richard Thomas best remembered as John Boy on the Waltons.
All Shook Up is a musical using the songs of Elvis but it isn%26#39;t about Elvis. I thought it was great fun.
Sweet Charity stars Christina Applegate of TV%26#39;s Married with Children.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stars John Lithgow of TV%26#39;s 3rd Rock from the Sun.
I mention the stars because sometimes people are interested in seeing a %26#39;star%26#39;.
From all the shows you mentioned here I would go with DRS as my first choice ( I just love John Lithgow) and Sweet Charity is my second choice.
Another recommendation is to visit www.broadwabox.com since they have discount codes for all the shows mentioned here.
Have fun
