Other than WTC site, what is within walking distance from this area?
Hilton Milennium
Wall St., City Hall, Battery Park, the ferries (to SOL and Staten Island). Here%26#39;s a link to a map of lower Manhattan

On that same website, it shows there%26#39;s some free shuttle bus transportation down there.

My office.
But I can%26#39;t let you just waltz in and use the bathroom unless you call ahead.

That%26#39;s actually funny. The only time I was ever in NY, I had to use the bathroom. We were at the Trade site and I walked across to the Milennium to pee. We went in, used the bathroom, walked by the elevators, decided to go to the top floor and wound up in the penthouse suite. The workers refurbishing the room allowed us to walk around and enjoy the view. I promised my kids if we ever came back to NYC we%26#39;d stay there. They are excited, but the first time I was in NYC was only for 2 days and I have no idea where to start with showing them around.
There are great trip reports on this forum tat would help you get started.
Check out reports by vikingtim, atraveler, orangerepublic, or just search for ';trip report';, ';trip review'; or ';recap';.
Ther are also lots of good previous posts re teenagers and short trips. I know more than one person recently posted proposed itineraries for 4-day trips....Just takes some digging.
Queens,
Am looking at the link you gave me with stuff to do in lower manhattan, do you have links to midtown and upper manhattan like this one? It%26#39;s wonderful, I%26#39;m checking out the interactive map now. What%26#39;s funny is that I work in Cleveland as a corporate travel agent for Bear Stearns company in NYC, and have no idea what to do there.
There are good posts (and post-within-a-post) re Upper West Side.

What guide books are you using?
Uh...just out of curiosity, what do you usually tell Bear Stearns folks to do in NYC?
Oops, misread your post...
