My husband and I are flying to New York on Sat 24th Sept for 4 nights, can anyone recommend a good value hotel in Manhatten.
Good value NYC Hotel
Prices appear to be sky high for those dates and you%26#39;ve left it a bit late. Even the usual budget places are either $250++ or not available.
Depending on what your budget is really, you could try finding an aparment (maybe email the people at
citylightsnewyork.com) and even consider a ';hosted'; place (stay with someone in their apt.) I can%26#39;t see the sense in paying $300 for a budget hotel.
Good value NYC Hotel
nywhiz, you%26#39;re starting to sound like a broken record ;-)
I%26#39;m really really surprised by the number of people who come on this board asking about hotels on an international trip with only 2 1/2 weeks before they are due to arrive. I couldn%26#39;t imagine doing that on a trip to London.
You may not find a great price this late. I usually book 9 months ahead for best rates in NYC. That said, look into options on the Upper West Side. Wonderful neighborhood. Call Trip Advisor recommended hotels that meet your needs direct for best price. Good luck!
I recently booked the Hotel QT for the end of October for $150 per night through Quickbook.com. I had to go through their Hotel Marketplace to find an opening. I paid about $15.00 per day extra there because they use travel agents, but I was able to get a great hotel for a reasonable price when every thing else was sold out. Another great place to try if you wait until two weeks before your trip is site59. They have very good rates for last minute deals.
Hi, we are going to be going to NY next year (24th-28th April) Want to stay on Times Sq or right near it. Any suggestions for nice hotels? About a $200-220 budget a night. We have looked at Novotel, it seemed ok but mixed reviews on here.
Please help!
Sunny, if you%26#39;re looking to book for next April, the Belvedere is a great choice (it%26#39;s probably already sold out for the current fall and Xmas season). Very short walk from TQ and it%26#39;s on a fairly quiet residential street--which you will definitely appreciate after you experience the craziness of TQ. Near all the theaters, lots of great restaurants and major subway lines.
I had a great time there last spring and it gets almost consistently good reviews on TA.
Hi! My girlfriend and I stayed at the Wall Street Inn this past weekend for $129.00 per night (www.thewallstreetinn.com); The hotel was VERY nice --- beautiful bathrooms. It was in the Financial District, but very close to restaurants and close to subways (Wall Street 2%26amp;3; White Hall R,Q,W,N; Staten Island 1) which will take you all over the city.
My husband and I are going next month, and we are staying at The Hyatt Regency on the Hudson (in New Jersey) for $189.00 per night. It has a beautiful view of Manhattan and is one train ride away from the city.
We have noticed, anything under $250 in Timesquare area is the dumps!
Broadway, sorry to sound like a broken record!! :0)
mamababoo, I did spend some time looking for bunni and couldn%26#39;t find anything. It was either full or verrrrry pricey. Even the Sheraton on the Hudson in New Jersey was $250 or more if I recall correctly.
befiandt, I%26#39;ll have to check the Hotel Marketplace thing you mention on quikbook. Not sure what it is but thanks for the info.
sunny, one of the nicer hotels in the TS area that%26#39;s SOMETIMES available on a special deal is the Michelangelo. The Belvedere is a favored ';budget'; option. I like the location of the Radio City Apartments (radiocityapartments.com) which ARE actually apartments with kitchen and extra space. The Salisbury is another like that (nycsalisbury.com) but not in TS area, due north nearer Central Park.
tlwilson, your Wall ST. Inn looks great and is a good tip. Thanks for posting about it.
Thank you for all the recommendations, im going to check them all out!!
Thanks once again!
One word of advice bunnj, if you need help in New York, do not ask the ';I told you so'; poster on this website for help.
