Flying BA into JFK

Thanks for all the help re places to go, we now have a big list of bars and stuff to check out and less than a week until we set off!

We%26#39;re flying BA World Traveller (Economy in other words!) from MAnchester to JFK. Does anyone know if we get free drinks aboard the flight and whether you need to purchase headphones for the movies?

Also, On the BA website it advises you not to lock your checked in luggage should customs nneed to open it, i%26#39;d rather lock it up but what do other people do?

Put in luggage locks into the search and lots of previous ones about TSA locks will pop up. Hope this helps

We flew to Barbados las year with BA and drinks and headphones were provided FOC

Beck..we have combination locks on our luggage and can%26#39;t put a TSA lock onto them, so always lock them. Leaving the country is no problem and all we did in the US ( and we went through a few airports) was to wait till they scanned the luggage to see if they needed opening. A couple of times they needed to, but it wasn%26#39;t a problem.

Do you know if those TSA approved locks are available to buy in the UK or at UK airports? We%26#39;re flying in a week!

I flew to JFK with BA recently - and yes, drinks %26amp; headphones are free. Not sure about locks - i did lock luggage going to JFK, but not returning.

Just to reiterate what others have said re BA. We have travelled with them lots and (so far) food and drink are complimentary. Headphones are in the pack in your seat along with a blanket, socks and a toothbrush. They will come round and collect the headphones before you land again.

Just bought 2 TSA approved locks from boots (UK Chestmist chain). Look out for the locks with the red diamond on the side of them.

Just returned from NY travelled with BA no problems. Everything is included.

Be warned buying drinks at JFK is very expensive take your own if you want a drink before boarding $10.46 for a pint of Bass! That includes compulsory tax and service charge!

I bought a combination lock in in Blacks camping and leisure which cost 拢5.99 this was US custom approved and our luggage came out intact both ways!

Riff i always fly BA to NY and the service is fab....drinks are FOC no problems at all. I have been very lucky the past 4 times i have travelled to JFKi have been uopgraded to business class. Wonderful way to travel.

if you go onto the BA website you can see everything you get and they provide for etc even see what films will be on this you can only do the month of travel or the month before.

did you pre resere seats? if you have your PNR then you can log on and do that....and no they dont charge you for that either.
