Help with place to meet

I%26#39;m meeting a couple whose wedding we are witnessing on the Monday night before they get married. They have 3 children varying in ages from 12 to 1 so I need to meet them somewhere child friendly but also somewhere easy to find. They are staying in the Salisbury and we are in Greenwich but we are quite happy to travel having been to NY a few times previously and with them having children somewhere nearer their hotel may be more suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Louise

Help with place to meet

In the lobby of their hotel :) Depending on when it is and what you plan to do with them you can always go out for coffee etc. or even up to their room (I assume they%26#39;ll have a suite). The Brooklyn Diner is a block away and good spot for a coffee. But with small kids, it might be best to meet at their hotel.

Be warned that the phone operators at the Salisbury are not too bright. I had an awful time trying to get in touch with Ange. They actually told me several times they%26#39;d checked out of the hotel when they hadn%26#39;t. So if you guys plan to talk before, you might exchange mobile nos. if you%26#39;ll have them. ;)

Help with place to meet

Why didn%26#39;t I think of the lobby????!!!! In the words of Homer (Simpson that is) doh! Thanks whiz :)

I%26#39;d definitely go with the lobby too Louise - there are tons of places around the Salisbury (the Brooklyn Diner being a good suggestion as you can%26#39;t miss it) but if its evening I remember a lot of the coffee shops being closed and some of the restaurants would only allow you to just have a drink if you were seated at the bar - probably not a good idea with kids!

Well we arrive that day so I wouldn%26#39;t want to be out too late so was thinking of arranging to meet them 6 ish - esp with them having a little bairn. Have coffee and discuss the next days events/times and just basically say hi. Steve%26#39;s going to take some photos if they want some, they have lunch reservations at 1pm on the wedding day and I was concerned that that maybe a little early from what people have said about queueing and stuff what do you reckon?

Don%26#39;t follow your last question Louise. What are you asking?

Basically if they get their license early enough on Monday - is it feasible that on the Tuesday they could get married and be at their chosen restaurant by 1pm?

Oh, sorry. Well as you know they have to wait 24 hrs. b/w license and ceremony. So I guess a lot depends on where the restaurant is relative to where they%26#39;re getting married, but it does sound a bit tight. It almost means they have to be one of the first there on both days.

I did think that, I%26#39;ll mention it to them just so that they%26#39;re aware that it could be tight. Cheers.

Guessing they don%26#39;t have an officiant booked to perform the ceremony?

I%26#39;d say they%26#39;d be ok with a reservation for 1pm. Providing they get their licence in plenty of time on the Monday (unlike us!)

then they%26#39;ll have time to play with on Tuesday morning. If they%26#39;re getting married at City Hall it shouldn%26#39;t be too busy on either a Monday morning for the licence or a Tuesday morning for the ceremony.

We were in and out in an hour and that was last thing on a Friday of a holiday weekend (and the place was chocka-block!)

The main thing they%26#39;ll have to remember is the time on the licence - they need to wait a full 24 hours - to the minute!

good point that whiz - where are they getting married %26amp; where is the meal?
