My Sister and I are taking my 76 year old mother to New York next month for 4 days. My mother has never been and is interested to seeing all the sights with a tour guide. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Should we get a private tour ?

You can%26#39;t go wrong on the Grayline double decker buses where you sit on the open top. We buy the 48 hr ticket and get on and off and always enjoy the tour guides. Riding more than 1 bus gives you more views as different guides give you more views of the city.
We also took the 3 hr harbor cruise around the island and really enjoyed that.
Also took the night bus tour that went over to Brooklyn so that we got a view of the lights of Manhattan.
