JFK Long Term Parking in April 2006

We are traveling out of JFK in April on a 5ish flight to Paris(Air France). We return about a week later and are supposed to land at about 3ish. Our drive to JFK is about 3 hours from our home in Massachusetts. I am looking for advice from someone who has used the long term parking. If it is a total hassle,we are also considering staying at an airport hotel the night we return if they would allow park/fly option on the return instead of departure night. Advice???

I guess I%26#39;m wondering why you aren%26#39;t flying out of Logan.

Wouldn%26#39;t that be closer?

I don%26#39;t know what you mean by it being a hassle. My understanding is you use the AirTrain to get to/from the lot. Here%26#39;s more info

I think as long as you leave yourself plenty of time to find a spot and get transported, you should be fine. There are also some private long term lots that provides a bus shuttle to the airport that some people prefer. Avistar is one I know (avistar.com)

If you needed a hotel room b/c of a very early flight, I%26#39;d say yes, use one of the airport hotel/motels. But I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll save any money by doing it that way. There%26#39;s a website airportparkingreservations.com that will show price options if you%26#39;re curious.

Sorry, use this website for Avistar

Broadwaynyc, my guess is there was a better airfare from JFK or better non stop flight. ;)

yeah, I know ;)

but sometimes by the time you factor in the gas ($3+/gallon) and the time, it sometimes isn%26#39;t that much of a saving

my sister lives in Maine, and there%26#39;s a shuttle that takes people right to Logan; your car is safe at home in the garage :)

I tried to get a flight out of Logan, although the drive is about equal from Western Mass. A lot more $$$ and guess why??? They just shuttle you from Boston to the flight that goes out of JFK!!! So I am OK with driving to JFK. Thanks for the advice--I appreciate it!

Just curious, how much is the flight from JFK?

I looked on Expedia and the non-stop flights from Boston to Paris are coming up $819 leaving 4/1/2006 and returning 4/8/2006 picking arbitrary dates.

I booked on 7/23/05 and got 633.97 inc taxes. Both non-stop flights. I wouldn%26#39;t be surprised if the airlines tack on a fuel surcharge by the time we fly in April 2006. BTW I checked all the travel sites and got the best deal by going directly to the Delta website. We are actually on Air France-Delta partner. Good luck

I used long term parking in July. No hassle at all. Just park you car in the long term lot and walk to the air tran. It was so easy. The airtran takes you right to your terminal.

Thanks to all--we will probably use long term parking. Trying to pack light with a carry on to make shlepping to and from JFK and CDG easier.

If you have AAA they have a discount when you show your card. I believe it%26#39;s 10%.
