Sinatra big band type club ';I've got you under my skin'; Do...

I have been looking at this board for quite some time and doing book research to find a club that does all the oldies. (Maybe even a dinner club) Do this exist in New York anymore? Or did it ever? My husband and I are coming up at the end of September. We are in our mid to late 30s and we don%26#39;t do the regular club thing. I have thought about jazz but it doesn%26#39;t excite me as much. Can anyone help?

Yes.

Swing 46 and Birdland come to mind:

Not sure about Rainbow Room, but worth checking their schedule:

Also, buy a copy of Time Out New York mag when you are here and check the music listings for piano bars, cabarets, etc.

Found this listing

';Sounds of Sinatra';

Saturdays, ongoing. Talented vocalist Cary Hoffman celebrates the music of Sinatra with accompaniment from Stan Rubin%26#39;s eleven-piece orchestra.

Carnegie Club, 156 W. 56th St., nr. Seventh Ave. (212-957-9676).

There are a trio of hotel ';rooms'; (meaning cabaret rooms) that have various singers who generally do the old standards. The Oak Room at the Agonquin hotel, Feinstein%26#39;s at the Regency Hotel and Cafe Carlyle at the Carlyle. At the end of the month Elaine Stritch will be appearing at the Carlyle (she is know for doing ';Here%26#39;s to the Ladies Who Lunch'; from the show Company). These places tend to be very pricey. Most serve adequate but pricey food but it does feel very ';New York.';

I think some of the previous ideas you got (like Swing and the cabaret show) sound like great fun.

The Rainbow Room is exactly as you describe with awesome views but you will definitely be the youngest ones there.

Thank you all. Lots of great info. I will get it all down and try to narrow my wants to my pocketbook. :-)
